saw this new bag from prada store. i'm a sucker for prada. especially when it comes to prada saffiano leather. this is the latest shape for the classic collection and i am very very tempted.

i like this as well. but it is too similar with the one i have. the birken-like bag which showed up in Mission Impossible 4.

went to prada and the promoter was asking me to buy the Mission-Impossible bag. "you know it's so famous now everyone is buying it." i told him "i have it way before Mission Impossible promotes it". and the fact is that bag is already famous even before Mission Impossible promotes it.

and of course my all-time favourite. really like this but since it's classic i am not in a rush to get it. surprise surprise this is the only prada bag which i don't mind buying something besides black colour :P

and recently i'm eyeing on a few mulberry bags. either the alexa.
or the mini alexa :D
small bayswater is also quite cute!
and of course i will only buy the black ones :D

not thinking about other brands recently. but you'll never know. i may change my mind an hour later :P

wanted to do a few thorough posts on my trip to turkey last month but didn't seem to have the time to do so. since i left work quite early today. which was like 9pm. i got to do a short and sweet post :)

just some random photographs taken in turkey. it was a 10-day trip and it was great. some asked "will you go back again?" i don't really know. there were places which i want to go back again and again. like london. been there more than 6 times i think. and there were places i told myself "been there done that no point going back again". like rome.

turkey oh turkey. such a beautiful place.

winter wonderland

i'm back!

my 10-day winter trip was awesome. minus the never ending bus rides. but it was ok because the coach was really comfortable and the bus driver was one of the best.

didn't have time to unpack yet. actually i'm just too lazy to do it now. dirty clothes and souvenirs are all over the place and i guess i seriously need an elf (since christmas is near) to sort things out for me.

didn't take a lot of pictures this trip. so it's easier to select my favourites :)

will update more about the trip soon. ta ta for now :)

next month this day i'll be flying off to a country which has never been on the top of my holiday list. all along i've known that it's a beautiful country. but i just never thought of visiting it. most people put italy england france amsterdam switzerland on the top of their europe list. no?

recently i've been spending a lot of time in the bookstores. old man has to as well. and he knew that i want to just sit down and view the magnificent pictures from the travelling guides which are too expensive and i'm too stingy to buy them.

i've done some research online and i just can't wait for the trip! :D are they gorgeous or what?!

bedtime novels

so what have i been up to lately? nothing but work and work and work. after work all i can do is cuddling in bed with my bedtime novel until i fall asleep. not much energy to think (let alone do) about other activities which require me to stay out of bed.

can't say that i haven't been enjoying life. life's great recently. and i'm particularly happy that since i'm spending so much time in bed i've managed to finish a lot of novels. now that's what i call life.

finished reading 陶晶莹's 我爱故我在. i personally think that she's very smart. and this novel has just proven me right. she has a unique way of telling her stories. just like how great she always is on tv. although i can't really relate to them since she talked about life of a mother and wife (and i'm nowhere near that). i felt like i actually understand what she was going through. there was this particular entry which she described the whole process of her giving birth to both her children. how she managed to overcome hurdles. what she had experienced. i don't know why but i was actually amazed by this whole natural birth thing. to be honest i'm not someone who's dying to be a mother or someone who loves kids. and although i've read a lot about these stuff and know truly well about how tough it is to become a mother etc. they never make me stop and think about it. it was after reading her entry that i actually sat down and thought about the whole process that she went through. and i realised that it is actually very tough to be a mother. and imagine the pain one has to go through. and the courage. seriously i don't think i will ever want to be a mother.

of course she didn't go on and on about motherhood. there are a lot of stories about love and life and how we should always treasure someone who really cares about us. and our lives. overall i really enjoyed reading it. and i hope she writes more :)

also finished Jodi Picoult's Picture Perfect.

the storyline is roughly similar to Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me. at least that was what i thought in the beginning of the story. but this is way better. although both books started off with a woman having lost her memory and found herself to be married to someone who has tons of money. this is better because it's not too predictable. a lot of suspense and flashback.

another book that i've finished was Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Day I Shot Cupid.

thought it would be great but it was ok only. she gave too much advice on how to move on after a break up. which i thought it was a bit too much. unless she wants to categorise this book as one of those self help books. which i thought it was not. of course if you're going through a break up you may find this useful. but a lot of times stuff like this won't heal. time will heal.

went to a few book fairs recently and grabbed a lot of books. i can tell you i'm the happiest girl on earth.

after buying so many books. i have no choice but to pack all the others which i've finished reading. didn't realise that i've finished so many of them. and they're still occupying a lot of space under my working table. need to get rid of them soon. because the new books that i've bought and the ones that i'm going to buy need space in my room too!

til my next book fair! can't wait :D

another new red nail polish!

OPI Deer Valley Spice is this hot chilli red colour with super micro pink glitters that are only obvious when you look real close.because of the micro pink glitters. the red looks a bit pinkish from certain angles.

this red nail polish is perfect for you if you don't want something too red or too glittery. unlike OPI Ali's Big Break (the red glitters are obvious) you can hardly tell that the glitters are there.

was looking through my previous posts and found that i've reviewed quite a few red nail polish. have to admit that red nail polish has brightened up a lot of my gloomy days. so far the ones that i really like are OPI Keys To My Karma and OPI Color So Hot It Berns. both are really bright and sexxaayyy!

am going to get more redddssss! <3

best breakfast ever!

i always look for places which serve all day breakfast. but of course that term only applies to american or english breakfast. you can't find nasi lemak stalls which open from morning til night. unless they have no customer they might open til night :P i love english breakfast. baked beans and egg are a must. without them i'll live a sad and miserable life.

having said that. english breakfast only comes second on my best breakfast list. the best breakfast in the whole wide world can only be found in kota bharu. my hometown :) of course there is nothing called all day breakfast in kelantan. in order to have the best breakfast you will have to sacrifice your sleep and wake up early.

we went to this place called Restoran Kita. the shop is along the road towards the airport. we were a bit late so some of the nasi was sold out.

managed to try their nasi dagang. super yum yum! got the one with chicken. didn't get to try the one with fish curry because it was sold out.

although the rice was prepacked around 5am or 6am in the morning. it was still hot when we bought it at around 9am. the rice was very soft and the coconut milk taste was definitely stronger than the ones we had in kl.

nasi berlauk ikan air dingin. this was very nice as well.

nasi kerabu. this was very yummy. better than a lot of others that i've tried. except the keropok.

long long time ago you could find motorcycles selling all sorts of kuih along the roads. i can still remember i always asked the maid to buy this for me. that time i was too short to see what they had in their baskets/boxes. so i would just eat whatever that the maid bought.

besides having malay style breakfast. i like to buy chicken curry rice sold by chinese. super duper love them!

the curry taste very different from the malay style curry. the curry is very mild and not spicy at all.

NOW i'm hungry :(

OPI serena glam slam

OPI Grape... Set... Match and OPI Servin' Up Sparkle from the OPI Serena Glam Slam Collection 2011. these two are the ones i like best from the collection. the other colours from the collection are equally attractive. might want to grab them later. i just got my hands on these last night and i just couldn't wait to try them!

first up we have OPI Grape... Set... Match.

this has just become my new love. for purple at least. it is just so adorable!

metallic shimmering purple with pink and blue micro glitters. the glitters were so overwhelming that the nail polish was almost powdery when it started to dry.

i need to digress a bit here. when i was applying this nail polish. the glittering effect reminds me of ariel (from the little mermaid). the part when she was turned into human. walking towards her prince. she was wearing this super glittery blue dress. this nail polish colour is exactly like ariel's dress. just that this is purple!

really good combination. the shimmery purple alone was adorable. with the glittery top coat it became so sparkly! love them to bits <3

read a lot of crazy reviews about this product.

and i can see why. the colours are so basic and essential that anyone can use them. anywhere. anytime. bought this for tzesie's birthday. and i really really feel like buying one for myself. but i doubt i'm going to put it to good use as i seldom apply eyeshadow.but that's also another thing about this palette. for someone who doesn't apply eyeshadow often. like me. this palette is still useful because whenever i need to apply eyeshadow these are the colours that i'll use!you can create different neutral looks for daytime or smokey eyes for night time. 12 shades of neutral colours for you to mix and match and play with.

i really should head to sephora again and grab another one before they run out of stock again. i should!

morganfield's pavilion

had lunch at Morganfield's a few weeks ago with some of my colleagues. chose this place because i wanted to satisfy my pork ribs cravings. the last pork ribs i had were tony roma's while i was in singapore. those were just awesome!

we ordered half slab of sticky bones spare ribs.and half slab of smoked peppercorn spare ribs.

didn't want to order too much because we didn't know whether they would be any good. but the portion turned out to be too small. we should've ordered full slabs.the sticky bones were... well, sticky! and quite sweet. i personally liked the peppercorn pork rib better because that was less sticky and the meat tasted better with the slight hint of pepper. although it stated "spicy" all i tasted was a "slight hint" of pepper. oh well. it really depends on how spicy you can take.

didn't really like the cordon bleu as the chicken was too dry and hard. and the portion was really small.we ordered two salads. caesar salad which you need to mix yourself. and the B.L.T. salad which you have to cut the vege yourself.
the appetiser platter was not really good. not worth ordering.

but the spinach dip was not bad.we ordered some desserts after the meal.the homemade apple pie was quite nice. i liked it a lot.the oreo mousse pie was not bad but a bit too sweet for my liking.
the brownie was awesome! :9

verdict: i'll go back again. but only for the pork ribs. the others were not good enough for me to order again. i might try their pork chop during my next visit. the apple pie and brownie are worth ordering again but i know i can get better ones out there.

the first thought i had when i saw this camera was "i can post prettier pictures of my nails/OPI products/cosmetics now!" *big grin* and i just can't wait.

two of the most wonderful things in life. breakfast and desserts!

my usual all-day-big-breakfast spot is definitely Departure Lounge. but on that particular morning we were too lazy and hungry to drive all the way to solaris for that. so we settled our brunch at Dome.

there were quite a few breakfast meals to choose from. i ordered the All Day Big Breakfast because it had almost everything that i wanted. i substituted the sunny side up for poached eggs. shockingly the waiter informed me that they needed an extra 25 minutes to prepare the poached eggs. i thought that was a bit unreasonable but i told him i would wait. i can't remember how long did i wait for my meal but overall it was a bit disappointing.Heavenly Scones.Beef Pie.to be honest i still prefer Departure Lounge. you get to choose stuff that you want for your big breakfast. and you get to choose how you want your eggs to be done. it's really nice that way.

ben's at pavilion for desserts.first time there and i liked it. mostly because of its decorations and designs. very homely :)Butter Scones.Red Velvet Cake.

a good place to hang out and kill time if you have nowhere else to go while waiting for your movie to start :P

OPI second honeymoon

another soft colour with a sweet name :)

previously i've reviewed OPI Isn't It Romantic? (click here for the review) and mentioned that it is similar to OPI Second Honeymoon. the only difference between them is OPI Second Honeymoon doesn't have shimmers.

both are sheer colours. but OPI Second Honeymoon is slightly more pigmented. after three layers. i got a pastel soft beige pink.

this colour can be used as base for french manicure. really nice. i think it was jerine who told me she used OPI Second Honeymoon as base and OPI Alpine Snow for the tips.

previously i've blogged about how our relationship is based on plenty of food and desserts and milk tea. til todate this has not changed. besides getting on each other's nerves with our lame stories. all we do is stuffing ourselves with food and food and food.

#1 pork noodles - Ah Or Chu Yuk Fun at sunway mentari.

this is really nice! as a pork noodle fan i can assure you this is really good. but there's one thing bad about this place. since they cook one bowl at a time. the taste might be different every time you visit. so it still depends on your luck. but overall i enjoy going there because you can add half-boiled egg :) their dry pork noodles is not very nice. so just stick to the soup.

we've tried quite a handful of pork noodles shops/stalls. searching for one that is worth going back again and again. during weekdays we usually stick to the one at Restaurant Win Heng Seng near jalan imbi. not super good but i can give it a B+ because it's convenient. sometimes we will go to Restaurant Ten-Tien Fatt in usj6. that is quite good as well. if you're a big eater this place is definitely good for you as the portion is quite big.

#2 Lai Foong beef noodles

this is good! since this place is quite famous i don't think i need to elaborate further.

another famous place for beef noodles.

was craving for it that day but since we didn't want to drive all the way there (couldn't stand the jam and parking problems) we settled for the one at Lot 10 Hutong. tasted similar but slightly more expensive.

the stall is very very small. parking is a huge problem (a lot of yummy food place in kl has parking problems) so it really depends on your luck. i'm not a big fan of wantan mee but i liked this place. you get to choose siew yuk or char siew or zha yuk or whatever they have there. i really really like hakka zha yuk so i ordered that. and i was not disappointed :) no wonder people still visit that place despite it being secluded and all.

#7 fish head noodles near one of the markets in kl.

earl just told me the name of the place this morning but i've forgotten already :P

#8 special cheddar cheese potato chips from Ireland's Potato.

i liked this. it was really cheesyyyyy!

christmas came early this year

sie came back from kb last two weeks and brought a lot of stuff for ming and i. it was like christmas!

anyone remembers this? i used to eat this almost everyday when i was a kid. it used to cost only 10 cents per packet. not sure about the price now. but surely it won't be that cheap anymore right?

this is also another thing that i liked best when i was a kid.
rice cracker from thailand. it's also available in kb. not sure about kl though. i like this a lot.

damn a lot of pocky! they bought them in thailand and some flavours are not available here. nice!

she brought us food as well. ayam kampung goreng :999

and my favourite curry rice. not too sure which stall has the best curry rice now. but anything will do for now. the portion is super duper small. one packet is always too little for me :P

actually i wanted nasi dagang and a lot more but sie didn't get to buy them. oh well i'm going back to kb soon. will try to eat as much as possible (and gain as much weight as possible) :P

bought this colour a few months ago. it was definitely love at first sight. but i didn't get to paint it because i bought too many red ones after that and i was eager to try them first.

this is the kind of colour which is able to catch my eyes in less than two seconds and make me RM59 poorer. yours truly cannot resist dark colours. even more when it shimmers.

when i first saw it i thought it was metallic blue. but it's not. it's deep dark blue with micro light blue shimmers. really really nice! in fact. the secret lover loves it too :P

it makes my fingers look fairer!

used to paint colours like this very often while i was still studying. black or dark blue/green/purple. those were must-have nail colours. nowadays i usually stick to red or soft colours (still have to get used to soft colours on my nails).

good to know that i still have a few new nail polish to try on. can't wait to try them :D

escaped from reality and returned with tons of photographs

even though it was a very short weekend trip. for two days and one night only. it was good enough for me. as mentioned in my previous posts. we spent a night in avillion port dickson last month. stayed in one of the garden chalets which was quite nice as the surroundings were quite green and refreshing.

took some pictures at the balcony when we arrived.

as our unit was on the top floor. we had to climb two flights of stairs. after the first flight of stairs. there was this small wooden pavilion. perfect place to take pictures. no?ming and i wanted to take a similar photo like the one we took in london.

but they don't look similar at all. ok maybe only 10% hahaha :D
took more pictures before we headed back to kl. took some polaroids as well :D
i'm definitely looking forward to another weekend trip of ours *excited*

chanel rouge coco shine

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine is my new sheer lipstick. yes i just can't get enough of sheer lipsticks. and i heard that this is limited edition. not sure how true is that.
since this is the first time i bought Rouge Coco Shine. i shall compare this with Aqualumiere. which is like my all-time favourite collection which is no longer for sale (so damn sad!). to be honest. if Aqualumiere collection was still for sale i wouldn't have bought this. anyway it's worth trying as both are from the same brand.

i bought no. 60. Antigone. like the Aqualumiere collection Rouge Coco Shine collection has sheer ones and slightly pigmented ones. this particular colour that i bought is slightly pigmented. not as sheer as the ones i usually buy. one good thing about Chanel lipsticks is (and it's worth repeating) that it glides on smoothly when you apply it. and they keep your lips moisturised. i personally prefer Aqualumiere. but it is no longer for sale. feel sad and disappointed when products that i like are no longer in production. how am i going to buy them again? they should've warned me beforehand so i could buy like 10 or 20 to store. right? and another bad news is. i've lost one of them due to the robbery. sad to the max!

although the casing for this collection is similar to the Aqualumiere. this is thinner. and the interior is slightly different. and i still prefer the Aqualumiere's interior :P

does anyone know whether Aqualumiere collection is available overseas? this lady here is desperate!

like Benefit's Confessions of a Concealaholic and Benefit's Big Beautiful Eyes. this is another one of their useful and lovable kits. convenient and good for traveling.

it comes with everything you need for a smokey look.
#1 eye bright - eye brightener.
#2 pink highlight eyeshadow
#3 pewter base eyeshadow

#4 deep charcoal eyeshadow - the colour is not very dark. will have to apply a few more times if you want a very dark smokey look.

#5 pencil eyeliner - quite nice to use. glide on smoothly and very pigmented.

#6 brow zings shaping wax
#7 a brush and a tiny tweezers

like all Benefit products. it comes with instructions and simple drawings to guide first-timers. very useful.

if you're not into smokey eyes. this kit is definitely not useful to you. but if you're a fan. this is just nice as everything is available in one kit. i personally like it a lot. as i'm always too lazy to dig for eyeshadow and eyeliner.

seaside wedding

attended my first seaside wedding two weeks ago.

i've always wondered how it feels like to have a wedding on a beach. and was glad that i had the chance to attend one.

no doubt it was very hot. especially in this forever-summer country of ours.

but it was indeed simple and romantic.

high heels are a definite no-no for a beach wedding. but girls are girls. we can't live without high heels.

the only thing that you would want to ask for is: please don't rain!
and we were lucky to have perfect weather that night.

the whole wedding reminded me of tiffany's little blue box. turquoise and white. sweet!

cupcakes are the trend now.
before anything started. face had become oily.

seaside wedding is romantic. no doubt about that. but it's just too hot in malaysia. if i were to have a wedding like this. i would want to have it overseas. at least i wouldn't have to suffer the heat =)

confessions of a concealaholic

one of Benefit's star products. Confessions of a Concealaholic is a concealing and brightening kit. you can find a lot of Benefit's star products in ONE box. it's so convenient right? applying wise and traveling wise.

i'm sure most of you have heard of/used this before. same here. i've heard about this for years but only decided to buy this recently. didn't buy this earlier because i don't use concealer a lot. and this box of goodies is for nothing but concealing purposes (granted it's for brightening purposes too)!so why did i buy this now? #1 tons of good reviews #2 convenient (as mentioned easy to apply and carry around. don't have to keep switching products while doing make up and don't have to bring 10 cosmetic bags while traveling) #3 i wanted to try some of the products but didn't want to buy the original (big) size for all of them. this is the best way to try them and know which one suits me better #4 bought it from the official Benefit website for lower price and got free shipping!

ok. let's look at what we've got here. basically everything is packed into one magical looking box. with a mirror for easy application. so as mentioned this is very convenient!

it's very genius of them to compile all the best-sellers in one box.

#1 "that gal" - brightening face primer. the original packaging is definitely nicer. sadly i don't use this often as i still haven't mastered the art of face brightening. but i heard that it can be used as normal face primer before under foundation. maybe i should try doing that.

#2 erase paste - creamy concealer for dark circles. i find that if your dark circles are too dark this can't help much. need to use boi-ing to cover those extreme dark circles.

#3 boi-ing shade 01 (light) and 02 (medium) - two shades of concealers. choose the shade according to the flaw that you need covered. you can conceal anything and everything that you don't like to see on your face.

#4 eye bright - eye brightener.

#5 lemon aid - eyelid primer. i like this because i hardly apply eyeshadow. this helps to give my eyes a refreshed look as it hides discoloration.

#6 two brushes - to be honest these are useless because i usually use my fingers to tap and blend.

the box comes with a thin booklet.

it contains instructions on how to use all the products. with simple drawings on the side demonstrating the exact spots to apply the products. actually all Benefit products come with instructions. very caring right? and very very useful for first-timer.

to be honest. this is something you can live without if you don't use concealers a lot (like me). i really like the packaging and the convenience of it only. i know i can definitely live without it :D

shimmering pale pink. very very sheer. after 3 layers the colour is still quite sheer. wanted to apply another layer to create a pastel pink but decided against it as i didn't want the coat to be too thick.

the colour is very similar to OPI Second Honeymoon (will review that later). but Second Honeymoon doesn't have shimmers. Isn't It Romantic? has a hint of very pale green shimmers. so the colour changes when you move your fingers. a sweet and lovely colour for soft shades fan.

of course i'm not a soft shades fan (although i'm slowly turning into one). i bought this partly because of the name. lovely name. and it's also part of the Fairytale Bride Collection 2009. double lovely =) the other nail polish that i really like from this collection is the I Pink I Love You. super sweet!

went to port dickson last weekend. stayed in avillion port dickson.

nice view from our chalet.
booked one of the garden chalets.
small bathtub.
balcony outside the room.
our room was on the top floor. better view :D
nice swimming pool. pardon the coconut trees.
a lonely peacock roaming the poolside.
spectacular view during sunset :)

i love going to the beach. and i realised that a lot of our good memories were created by the seaside. i really don't mind another beach/island trip :)

laura mercier foundation primer and tinted moisturiser

been reading lots of good reviews about laura mercier products. finally forked out some money to buy their star products. a lipstick (still can't resist lipsticks :P *click here for the review). and some other stuff.

bought the foundation primer. oil free.
it's lightweight and very refreshing for the skin. although most foundation primer are also lightweight and easy to apply. this feels like cooling masks. it leaves the skin feeling cooling and minty. really nice! i've tried to apply tinted moisturiser/liquid foundation on bare skin without first applying the foundation primer. and it looks so different. with the foundation primer as base. it's easier to apply the tinted moisturiser/foundation and it looks more natural.

also bought the tinted moisturiser spf 20. oil free. nude colour. this is one of their star products. it's a sheer and lightweight moisturiser with a hint of colour. can be used as foundation but minimal coverage. good for people with really good skin complexion. not really suitable for me but i really love the texture because it is very light and not sticky at all. like the foundation primer. it feels minty when you apply it. really refreshing.

i've tried applying the foundation primer and tinted moisturiser and liquid foundation in one go. after three layers my skin didn't feel sticky or heavy duty at all. partly due to the minty effect and the texture. purely for experiment purposes. really don't need all three layers. either the tinted moisturiser or liquid foundation will do. end it with laura mercier loose powder then you're good to go. will review the loose powder next =)

used to think anna sui's liquid foundation suits me best. now i've found my new best friend. no doubt i still love anna sui's liquid foundation. nice smell and all. i still think that these are best for weekdays. they're just really different.

verdict: 4/5. why? because they look really ugly. don't like the packaging at all :P

oh ya. i got the eyeshadow for FREE!

i don't really use eyeshadow. so i gave it to jerinelay. she has reviewed it (click here). according to her it is quite nice. worth buying :)

bright and vibrant. no shimmers. no glitters. classic big yummy red. it's slightly darker than OPI Color So Hot It Berns and OPI Red. easier to apply compared to those nail polish with micro glitters or glitters or shimmers.

still can't decide which red nail polish do i like best. all the vibrant ones are just too lovable.

i have another new red nail polish to try on. stay tuned for more =D

bought the limited edition Anna Sui Dolly Girl lipstick a few weeks ago.

i'm a sucker for limited edition stuff. especially when it comes to Anna Sui. this limited edition Dolly Girl lipstick collection comes in three colours. all sheer ones. it's like double happiness for me! i bought the blue dolly girl because among the three i like this lipstick colour the most. not like it makes a lot of difference since they're all sheer. but still.the lipstick itself looks so cute! to be honest i really don't feel like using (ruining) it yet. come to think of it. i like the other two colours too. maybe i should buy them as well. if they're still for sale.
bought this limited edition Dolly Girl lipstick a few years back. no longer for sale and i really regret that i didn't buy more.
i super love the colour of the lipstick. sheer ones (as usual) with a little bit of shimmers. really nice.and i super duper love the designs. sigh i should've bought more. oh well.

the designs for the normal range have changed as well. the left one is the current design. right one is the old design and no longer for sale. sigh i really like the old design.

cameron highlands trip part 3: tea plantations

tea plantations are among the must-visit places in cameron highlands. since that was the first time yours truly visited cameron highlands. we decided to strikethrough as many tourist attractions on our list as possible.

after visiting the disappointing strawberry farms on the first day. we visited some of the tea plantations the next day. we went to Cameron Valley (commonly known as the Bharat Tea Plantation) first as it was nearer to the place we stayed.we didn't walk to the plantation itself as it was quite far. we stopped at Cameron Valley Tea House. there was a sign saying "anytime is tea time". surely if you're staying at a place like this. with such beautiful view and fresh air. anytime IS tea time.we ordered a pot of tea and enjoyed the greens.since there was nothing much for us to do there (except drinking tea). we headed to BOH Tea Plantation.

BOH Tea Plantation is a must-visit so i sort of insisted that we should go. i regretted!

the roads to and from cameron highlands were already damn torturing (since i get car sick easily). i swear i didn't expect the roads heading to the plantation could be 100 times worse! while we were on our way. i was already quite sick. so when i saw the sign asking us to turn into the plantation i felt relieved as i thought we were near. i was so damn wrong. the torturing part just began. winding roads were the least of the problems. the roads were bumpy and narrow (one fucking lane only!) and most turnings were 90 degrees and we couldn't see shit. had to keep honking to alert one another. i tell you that was the worst experience ever!

after 10km of torturing. we reached our destination.the fragrance of tea was very strong in the factory. and it was very clean.
we were able to see how they processed the tea leaves. there was a sign asking us to wait for the guides for the factory tour. but we didn't see any guides there. so we roamed the place ourselves. there was a tea shop in front of the factory. we wanted to order some tea but the place was full.a detailed flow chart on the wall. the view was breathtaking. wouldn't mind waking up to this view every morning. fresh air and all. sigh.it started to rain and we decided to leave the plantation. didn't get to walk to the viewing point. i'm sure it would have been nice to see the whole plantation.

managed to snap a few photos in the rain.
took two polaroids as well. one failed because i didn't get the settings right (i always get the settings wrong anyway).

unfortunately the nice one was lost due to the robbery. about 10 polaroids were in my bag and all of them are gone now :(

so. after visitng the place. another 10km of torturing before we reached the main road. how fun!

laura mercier sheer lip colour: bare lips

two words. love it!

this is my first laura mercier lipstick. when i bought it two weeks ago i didn't expect it to be really nice because laura mercier's star products are tinted moisturiser and loose powder. i bought this because. well. i just couldn't resist lipstick. but to my surprise i actually love it!simple design. full black with some purplish glitters. really nice.

they offer a few types of lip colour: gel, creme, stickgloss, shimmer, satin and sheer. as usual i have my eyes on the sheer ones. it's very hydrating and it glides on very smoothly when you apply it. not glossy. more like half-matte. like it's name "bare lips". it looks really natural and gives a hint of nude pink. my kind of colour. the other reason i love this lipstick is because it doesn't smell funny (like most lipsticks). it smells like cocoa butter. feel like licking my lips all the time =)

this lipstick is priced at RM82. more expensive than the average lipsticks out there. but it's definitely worth buying. and it's RM10 cheaper than chanel lipstick. so if you're a chanel lipstick fan like me. you might want to try this.

cameron highlands trip part 2: strawberry farms

the only thing that i looked forward to before we went to cameron highlands was the strawberry farms.

i'm not a huge fan of strawberries. but i sort of assumed that strawberry farms would be filled with tons and tons of big red strawberries.

since i was damn excited about going to the strawberry farms. earl agreed to bring me there once we arrived.

as the old saying goes. higher expectations lead to higher disappointment. the farms were not as i expected. and we actually went to two farms. just because i thought we got conned the first time. turned out both were quite bad. we went to Big Red Strawberry Farm first. then Healthy Strawberry Farm.

saw a lot of lettuces when we reached Big Red Strawberry Farm.
could barely see any strawberries.

didn't know the flowers look like this. interesting.
mini vineyard.
saw some grapes.

and some colourful cacti.
cacti which look like flowers.

saw some tomato plants too.

and a huge-ass tomato!

took me some time to find a red one =)

overall the farms were ok. although they were not as i'd expected. there were plenty of pretty flowers for me to stare at.

here's a very useful advice: DO NOT BUY STRAWBERRIES WHILE YOU WERE AT THE FARMS. they cost a bomb! earl and i bought a box of strawberries at Healthy Strawberry Farm. cost us RM15. when we went to Brinchang night market in the evening and pasar tani in the morning. we found they were selling two boxes for RM10. can't believe we'd totally forgotten about the golden rule: never ever buy stuff at tourist attractions. con-lan-firm get conned!

OPI got a date to-knight

got this FREE from jerinelay's blog. she was giving this away a few weeks ago. and i won! *do watch out for more freebies from her blog. i think she's giving away Anna Sui's Forbidden Affair perfume (miniature) now.

OPI Got A Date To-Knight is this sheer and creamy light pink which is very feminine. i don't fancy soft and pastel colours but i think this colour looks really nice. if you don't fancy sheer colours (like me) you can apply more layers. i applied 3 layers and got this pastel pink colour.

a few commented that pink nails look nice on me. and i choose to believe them =) in fact my fingers look fairer with this nail colour. so this is currently on my favourite list.

i still have a few sheer colours to try on. will update you girls when i have the time to. ttfn. ta ta for now!

tiffany silver polishing cloth

back then tiffany & co didn't charge a cent for cleaning and polishing services for sterling silver products. so i used to send all my tiffany necklaces to them once a month. however starting march this year. they started to charge a nominal fee for the service.

being the ever-so-stingy me. i figured i would need to pay quite a lot for that if i were to go back every month with all my necklaces. so i was quite reluctant to send them back and left them aside. earl then suggested that i should get the polishing cloth to clean the necklaces myself. just pay for the cloth and i get to clean and polish them anytime i want without having to pay for the services.

so i visited tiffany & co last week and got myself the silver polishing cloth. RM20 per piece. they used to have the big one which cost around RM50. i think that was more worth it. but they don't have it anymore.

the cloth came with the silver polish so all you have to do is rub the necklace/pendant with it. certain pendants require more effort especially those with too much details. but overall the cloth is really useful and cheap compared to sending all of them back.

ok i didn't do a very good job polishing them. earl did it better. but it still looks nicer than before =)

spent like crazy at laura mercier last week. they were having promotion and i just couldn't resist the temptation!got myself a foundation primer. tinted moisturiser. mineral powder. loose setting powder. lipstick. eyeshadow. and face polish. will try everything and let you girls know how good the products are =)

benefit products have also arrived! just in time to cheer me up after the monday incident.bought the confessions of a concealaholic and smokin' eyes.

OPI ink

when i first heard the name of the nail polish. i thought it would be shimmering black or something to that effect. but i was wrong.

OPI Ink is this lovely shimmering and glittering dark purple-blue with micro glitters. it's a totally must-buy for purple fans!

the colour changes with the light. a mixture of blue and purple. really nice! like all nail polish with glitters (micro or otherwise). it dries quicker than the normal ones. so application is a bit tough. just avoid the fan and you're good to go.

just bought a whole new batch of OPI. will blog about them when i'm free :D

ipoh

on the way to cameron highlands. we stopped by ipoh for lunch. like cameron highlands. this was my first time there.

first stop. funny mountain tau fu fah.

the queue was quite long and there were cars queueing up as well. you can order in person or you can choose to "drive through". some actually brought the tau fu fah into their cars to eat because there were limited seats.

a very small bowl of tau fu fah! it was really really smooth. no wonder it's so famous.
we bought the soy milk as well. quite nice too.

next we stopped at restaurant thean chun. heard that the ipoh hor fun is quite nice. since we needed to wait quite long for the hor fun. earl ordered some satay. the sauce was different from the ones we usually have in kl. sweeter and not spicy.

we ordered popiah as well.
finally it came. the portion was very small. but good.

we were quite full after that. so we didn't stop at other recommended shops and headed straight to cameron highlands.

on the way back from cameron highlands. we stopped by bidor. will blog about that next. stay tuned.

inglot lipstick pearl

this is my first Inglot product.

heard a lot about Inglot when Jerine reviewed their eyeshadows. i don't use eyeshadows that often so although i was really tempted to purchase their "freedom system" for the eyeshadows i didn't give in to the temptation (so proud of myself). i decided to start with their lipstick when i saw the choices they offer. it was really tough to pick ONE lipstick out of like 50 different shades. or do they have more?

well i wanted to buy more but i was afraid that i might not like it or it might not be as good as the ones i'm using now. but one thing i do like about Inglot lipstick is the packaging. full black (my kind of thing) and simple.

i bought no. 179 (reddish dark pink) from the pearl range.

they have matte, cream, pearl and gel (and a few other types). i chose the pearl type because it's a bit glossy. matte is really not my kind of thing. i'm thinking of trying the cream ones though.

i always go for Chanel and Anna Sui lipsticks because they offer a wide range of sheer colours. meaning you will have to apply 2 to 3 layers to get the full colour. since i don't party that often sheer colours are really my favourite. but this Inglot lipstick is totally different. one application and you get a pair of full red lips.

swatches for Chanel Aqualumiere No. 95 Porto Rotondo (top) and Inglot No. 179 (bottom).although both lipsticks look the same. the results are completely different.so what i do now (i really can't take full colour) is i apply once on my lower lips and i pressed my lips. another good thing about this lipstick is it doesn't fade too much after a few drinks (unless you deliberately wipe it off). so i predict i will be able to use this for a long long time.

Inglot lipstick is priced at RM50 and it's only 50% of what i paid for one Chanel lipstick. if you're not willing to pay too much for a lipstick. you can try Inglot. it's definitely affordable and good. minus the fancy names Chanel lipsticks have :P

cameron highlands trip part 1: butterfly farm

went to cameron highlands last month. and it was my first time there. yup you heard me right. i just never thought about going there or anywhere else in malaysia. my cuti-cuti malaysia only started when i came back from the uk. how patriotic.

everything aside. i was just glad that i didn't wait for another 25 years to visit that place. no doubt there was nothing much we could do there. the weather was really nice. i super love places like this. where everyone wears like it's winter i can bravely walk around with singlet and hot pants. i did change into a long sleeve shirt the next day as i was not feeling quite well (have not been well since 2 months ago).

we went to butterfly farm after we had our breakfast in the hotel. the weather was super nice i wished i didn't have to come back to forever-summer kl. i didn't know that admission was required for the butterfly farm. i just assumed that it was free. butterfly farm was quite small. and not like what i had expected. side note: a lot of places in cameron highlands are super overrated. will blog about them in my upcoming posts.

there were a lot of pretty and strange-looking flowers in cameron highlands. and they cheered me up throughout the trip.

as much as i'm not an apple fan. i have to agree that iphone 4 takes really really good pictures.

earl took quite a few pictures that day. all of them look really nice. but i've forgotten which were taken by him and which were taken by me now. oh well.

there were quite a lot of butterflies and moths. we saw a chart differentiating butterflies and moths (just in case you're wondering what are the differences you can always ask google). quite interesting. i always thought moths look ugly. apparently i was wrong.

there was another section dedicated to all the insects snakes spiders reptiles and all kinds of stuff that i won't enjoy in a million years. earl was fascinated by some of them and while he was busy enjoying them i was busy tweeting :P

one thing bad about that section is. they don't lock the cages. i really hate to imagine those thingy crawling out of the cages and roam the place. scary shit.

we left butterfly farm quite early. partly because there was nothing else to explore. i wouldn't say that this place sucks. i just think they can do better.

went shopping last saturday. a short but fruitful one :)

bought 3 lipsticks in half an hour. ok i need to admit that i'm (a little bit) obsessed with lipsticks. will review them when i'm free.

went to sephora again after that. bought soap & glory's clean on me. wanted to buy this for a long time already but didn't get the time to (although my office is just around the corner). i really really like the smell. it smells exactly like the scrub 'em and leave 'em i bought the other day. and one thing about soap & glory is. it's really good and affordable. their slogan "at soap & glory we believe you don't have to spend an arm and a leg just to moisturise one" is just so true!

refilled my stock too! bought kiehl's cleanser. super like this because it's really cooling!

baby tomato overdose

bought damn a lot of baby tomatoes from pasar tani in brinchang. the lady at the stall told me that the red baby tomatoes are sweet. yellow ones are crunchy. and orange ones are crunchy and sweet. being the forever curious me i bought the red ones and the orange ones.

i'm glad that she didn't lie to me. the red ones are sweet.

the orange ones are bigger rounder and crunchier. not as sweet as the red ones but they are equally nice.a red baby tomato and an orange baby tomato.on the way back to kl. we stopped at tapah r&r and bought some water guava (jambu air). they look damn cute! and are sweeter than the ones in kl. heart-shaped water guava is <3

OPI burlesque: ali's big break

it was time to paint my nails again :)

on this blissful night. i chose to paint OPI Burlesque: Ali's Big Break while listening to Burlesque OST. i particularly like "show me how you burlesque" and "but i am a good girl". still looping them now. "express" is also being repeated for quite a few times.

back to my nails.

i know most people don't bother with the base and top coat. but trust me. it is essential to paint the base coat first. follow by two coats of nail lacquer. then the top coat. i'm using OPI for both the base and top coat. two for RM59 which is the price for a bottle of OPI nail polish. really worth it (kind of like buy one free one) since you can use them for a long time.

Ali's Big Break is slightly darker compared to OPI Red or Color So Hot It Berns. but it's fancier because it's shimmering red with micro glitters. and because of the glitters it dries faster and it's more difficult to paint. a bit of downside there. i bought this because of the glittering and shimmering red that i love so much and so far i'm still loving it. of course minus the frustration when it dried too fast :P i'm planning to buy the other colours from the Burlesque collection. on the top of my list are "let me entertain you" and "the show must go on" :D

fuchsia

the first time i saw a fuchsia plant was when i was studying in leeds. it was love at first sight. its flower looked exactly like a ballerina. i didn't take a lot of pictures back then because there was only one bush and there were not many flowers on it. during my recent weekend trip to cameron highlands. i was surprised to see that there were fuchsia plants everywhere! i first saw them in one of the strawberry farms. then another farm. then everywhere else. along the roads. in the temple. plenty of them everywhere! you can imagine how excited i was :D they do look a bit different from the ones i saw in leeds. i googled and found out there are around 110 recognised species of fuchsia! i saw some pink ones too. not a fan of pink but they do look nice.there were a lot of pretty flowers in cameron highlands which caught my eyes. will post more pictures in my next post. til then.

this is how my thomas sabo collection looks like now :) 12 charms and counting.got a few new charms since the last time i posted something about my charms. got this shoe box charm for jerine and myself during her birthday. they were the last two in pavilion (they've discontinued this charm) and i'm glad i bought them.
bought this high heel charm when the new collection came out. i think it was on the 3rd day or something. i just can't resist super high heels. and high heel charms :Dand Earl bought me this bear charm two months ago (how time flies).jerine bought me another charm during my convocation. how sweet!
there are a few charms that i want to buy right now. but they will have to wait because yours truly has set eyes on more tempting goodies right now *wink wink*

finished reading "i heart paris" by lindsey kelk. after 3 weeks O.O

i still can't believe i've used such a long time to finish a chic lit. but it's not like i have all the time in the world to read nowadays. and i just realised that this is part of her "i heart..." series. "i heart new york" and "i heart hollywood" came before this. and the sequel to this is "i heart vegas". still considering whether i'll buy them. "i heart paris" was quite boring in the beginning. but it got better and funnier after that. maybe it was due to the fact that i didn't read the first two books. so i didn't quite get the story. about how she left london (she disliked london) and moved to america. this book talked about her trip to paris for a short vacation with her boyfriend and how everything went downhill. but one thing about this book is. it definitely reminded me of paris. although the main character didn't quite enjoy paris like she hoped she would. i did enjoy my trip to paris. and sigh. i miss paris so much. on my next trip i'm going to visit paris with someone i love (cheesy i know).

one down. more to go. i'm starting to read "the lost symbol" by dan brown now. this is his latest novel. read all his other novels and i enjoyed them a lot. hope this is just as good.

another night wasted at the beauty corner

this morning jerine received her Benefit products already. and all i could think of was when will i receive mine. i bought Smokin' Eyes and Confessions of a Concealaholic.

i've been wanting to buy these since forever (they have really good reviews and they are really convenient for traveling!) but i know i really don't need them so i kept hesitating. since buying online is cheaper now (i think i save around RM60 plus?) i might as well grab them right? really can't wait for them to arrive! *excited*

bought Sephora Mineral Loose Powder Foundation the other day.

i've used it twice only and so far i'm loving it. it is very fine and light so it looks really natural on my skin. although for my skin condition i need something which gives more coverage i find that this is quite useful for everyday use since i really don't need thick make up for work. but i will need to try it for a few more times in order to determine whether it is good or bad for my skin. it is also not very expensive so it's worth a try. the casing is small. it's easier to carry it around. unlike my Anna Sui Loose Powder which is forever sleeping at home.as you can see from the picture. it is impossible to bring this thing around. adorable packaging comes with a price. you can also see that the loose powder is everywhere :P inconvenience apart this loose powder is really good. like all Anna Sui products this smells good. and the powder is really fine. the forever lucky me got the travel-sized loose powder a few months ago. so now i can use this when i travel (to wherever my heart desires).i'm also trying this Anna Sui Protective Fluid Foundation. got a sample from the counter the other day.

all this while i'm using the Moisture Rich Fluid Foundation.i like this a lot because it settles easily and it smells nice (as usual). plus it comes with a pump so it's really convenient to use. unlike some of my Bobbi Brown foundation which are so inconvenient. so it's actually good that i get to compare between the "Protective" and the "Moisture Rich". i find that "Protective" is lighter than "Moisture Rich". "Protective" glides on the skin and can be applied more easily. but both have equal coverage. i really don't mind buying "Protective" next.

usually i'll stick to Anna Sui Moisture Rich Powder Foundation when i'm rushing. which is like almost every morning :P (got this picture from the website because i accidentally deleted the photo i took :|)

since we're at it. i was playing with my mascara the other night. some are quite useless already so i've thrown them away. out of all the mascara that i've tried i personally fancy Lancome L'Extreme the most. got two of them now. bought a new one without realising that i still have another one at home. oh well...from the left. #1 Lancome L'Extreme which is my favourite. good for everyday use. #2 Maybelline Colossal Mascara. i bought this in the uk. i know malaysia has it but the packaging is slightly different. the malaysia edition is slimmer. i only use this for dinner and party. #3 Maybelline Great Lash. bought this in the uk and is not available in malaysia (i think). i usually apply this to work because it's very easy to apply and not too thick. #4 Rimmel London Extra Super Lash. this is good for everyday use. and very cheap. #5 Anna Sui Dolly Girl Lil' Starlet Super Mascara. bought this because it was limited edition and i really like the packaging :) it smells nice too #6 Rimmel London Glam'Eyes. i don't really like the brush. but it's quite cheap so... #7 Lancome Oscillation Mascara. this is the first vibrating mascara by Lancome. super duper love it. but the battery died already :( #8 Lancome Virtuos Mascara. travel-sized. #9 Clinique High Impact Mascara. travel-sized. #10 Maybelline Sky High Curves. don't really like this. #11 Lancome L'Extreme again :)

needless to say. Lancome has the best mascara. Anna Sui's products are fancy and smell nice. Rimmel London has affordable mascara and good for everyday use. Maybelline products are definitely affordable but certain products are quite useless.

OPI Goin' Ape-Ricot!

a bit too orangey for my liking. but after a few coats it looks kind of reddish. so it's bearable :)

it's a known fact among our friends that i don't paint pastel colours. only jerinelay paints them. so in order to influence me. she digged out all her precious OPI and even painted my nails for me! i didn't try a lot of pastel ones on our first attempt.

during our second attempt. i tried all the soft shades! what an achievement :)

to be honest i still cannot accept soft colours. ever since i started painting my nails (i think more than 15 years ago!) i have been painting dark colours ever since! old habits die hard.

RED nail polish. i used to say no to red nail polish. but once i started painting red i can't turn back. you will have to try the power of red to know how strong is the addiction. OPI has a wide range of red nail polish. and although they look the same to almost everyone on the street. the different shades and unique names of theirs do matter!

i'm going to get this OPI Go Goth! mini set collection next. they have all the dark colours that i love. and the colours are not sold individually. so... since jerine tempted me to online purchase Benefit products a few days ago. i decided to take revenge and asked her to buy more OPI! in the end we bought 5 each. a few of the colours that we wanted were out of stock. otherwise we would've bought more :(

and of course. jerine got all the soft colours. i would never buy these colours in a million years! from the left: Malaysian Mist. Hopelessly in Love. Japanese Rose Garden.

weight-gaining trip

2 weeks ago during our spontaneous trip to Gong Cha we talked about going to ipoh the next morning. turned out i slept at around 5am and decided not to join them anymore since i didn't think i could wake up the next day. but as usual everyone was late (except jason) so i managed to catch them. BUT when we were heading towards the highway they told me we were going to malacca instead. i felt a bit cheated >.<

it was fucking hot that day. i didn't think my make up was melting. i thought my face was melting! so when the guys were busy queueing up for the must-have chicken rice ball. jerine and i walked into various shops with air conditioner to cool down :)we didn't order a lot because we wanted to bring our american friend to more eating places in malacca. that was the plan anyway. so after this not-so-full meal we proceeded to jonker 88 to have chendol. as usual the place was very very crowded. but we were lucky because we didn't have to wait for too long to get seats. the chendol was so refreshing! especially during that kind of weather. but i didn't really enjoy the kidney beans. oh well. after the so-called refreshment. we walked around jonker street. taking pictures. acting touristy. the usuals.

we stopped by this shop which sells handmade soaps. jerine wanted to buy some for herself and her friend. it is a small and pretty shop. most girls would like it. although i am not a big fan of soaps. i did enjoy going through all the different soaps they have. you would have to visit jerine's blog to know more about the soaps :) while she was busy selecting which soaps to purchase. i was busy taking pictures.
i really like how they carved the soaps. so cute! :D
after some shopping. it was time for us to eat again! we walked all the way to dataran pahlawan just to satisfy our cravings for the famous mille crepes. after waiting for almost an hour for a table. we ordered 2 original ones. 1 rum & raisins. and 1 strawberry chocolate. too bad they didn't have a lot of choices that day. kind of stupid i would think. to have limited varieties during a weekend plus school holiday. i kind of miss the double chocolate i had during one of my previous visits :9
but i found the strawberry chocolate to be equally satisfying :)

next stop. we had satay babi. didn't order a lot because we planned to have satay celup after that. but the queue at capitol was so fucking long (couldn't believe people actually waited!) we decided to pass. so we headed to the famous pak putra. they have the best tandoori chicken and nan in town! no joke! you have to try it to believe it :)we had a very very satisfying dinner! (staring at the pictures now makes me really really hungry *drools*)

that ended our short malacca trip. but i did gain some weight O.O

we stopped by Gong Cha when we reached kl. too bad they still didn't have the white pearls. disappointing max!

♥ stroopwafels and stroopkoeken ♥

i think the first time i had stroopwafels was when i was a kid. somehow i can still remember the taste of it after so many years. when i was in amsterdam 3 years ago. the first thing i thought about was stroopwafel. and i ended up buying quite a few packets back to malaysia.

few months ago. i had this endless craving for them. and my wish was granted when my cousin went to amsterdam last month. and bought back not one but two packets for me. love her to bits :)))

so. what is stroopwafel? stroop is caramel-syrup. wafel is of course waffle. it is a famous dutch product. and basically it is made from two thin layers of waffle with caramel-syrup filling in the middle.

the caramel-syrup in between the layers is oh-so-heavenly! and stickyyyy :9

my cousin bought stroopkoeken for me to try as well. and to my surprise it is as good as stroopwafel!

koeken is cookie. basically it is made from two layers of cookie with caramel-syrup filling in the middle. very similar to stroopwafel but thicker.

i've heard that these are sold in kl as well. will definitely check it out! in the mean time. i shall treasure these two packets that i have and hopefully i don't finish them too quickly :P

finished a few novels this month. and it makes me happy because i have a valid reason to buy more now :) the only downside is i don't have much space in my room to store more novels anymore. but i'll find a way. i always do.

i'm glad that i started reading again. this habit stopped for around two months and i thought i would never read again. but i guess old habits die hard. i'm back to reading novels before i sleep now. most nights anyway. don't feel like reading the heavy stuff though. not yet anyway. am sticking to love stories and chic lit at the moment. some chinese novels too. mostly short stories which i can finish in 5 to 10 minutes.

finished "the lucky one" by nicholas sparks last night. it was ok. fun to read but not particularly great. his latest novels are not that good anymore. his first few novels are way better. such as "the notebook" and "message in a bottle". those are really good. "nights in rodanthe" and "a bend in the road" are not bad too. i know it's a bit unfair to always compare his other works with "the notebook" and "message in a bottle". the stories are different and everything. but i just can't help it. those were the ones that encaouraged me to buy all his other novels at one shot. a bit crazy i know. but what do you expect from a teenager? back then i didn't have twitter to entertain me *big grin*

as much as i want to stick to chic lit. i still read general fiction to stop myself from being too childish. i'm currently reading (among others) "the madness of a seduced woman" by susan fromberg schaeffer. it's actually quite nice because the story is written in narrative form. the main character is basically telling us why she pulled the trigger. what made her thought and acted that way. she started her story from the time when she was still a kid. bringing the readers into her world and trying to make the readers understand how she became who she was. i want to finish this as soon as possible but it is not wise to read it before i sleep. it's a bit heavy for bedtime reads. and so i still have a long way to go.

can't remember the other novels which i've finished reading. that's the thing. i've been having the concentration span of a goldfish lately. can't seem to remember things anymore. maybe tomorrow i will wake up not knowing where i am and who i am. kind of like what happened to the main character in "50 first dates". kind of scary don't you think?

anyway. i will start reading "i heart paris" by lindsey kelk tonight. jerine lend this to me because she doesn't read fiction. let alone chic lit.

#1 scrub 'em and leave 'em body buff.

it smells really nice. and unlike most scrub it is not too harsh on the skin. it contains tiny pink beads and colourless grains. the grains are coarser than the pink beads. on one hand the tiny pink beads ensure that the scrub is not too harsh on the skin. on the other hand the coarser grains remind you that it's working wonders on your skin - exfoliating :)

#2 hand food.

this hand lotion is my new love! it smells wonderful. and the most important thing is it is non-greasy! unlike most hand lotion your hands don't feel too oily after applying it. definitely a must-buy ♥

had a love-hate relationship with my long hair. kept wanting to cut it short but didn't have the guts to. sometimes i felt damn bored with it. sometimes i loved it so much i didn't want to cut it. most of the times i was just afraid that i would regret if i cut it short.

a few weeks ago i suddenly had the urge to cut it short. so i just went ahead and did it. no hesitation no second chance. that's it!

last saturday earl and i satisfied my ice-cream cravings at hokkaido ice cream. it's part of hokkaido ichiba japanese restaurant on the 3rd floor of the gardens mall.

initially i felt like ordering most of the items from the menu. the pictures were very tempting.

we ordered the "macha ice no hokkaido milk parfait". it was ok. the macha ice-cream was not bad. but the jelly was tasteless.

we also ordered the "ice cream fantasy". 6 scoops of ice-cream/sorbet on a waffle. there were around 20 flavours to choose from.

we thought that the dark chocolate and milk chocolate ice-cream were quite normal. we can easily get them elsewhere. but the hokkaido melon sorbet and the hokkaido apple sorbet were really good. earl particularly liked the hokkaido muscat wine sorbet! heavenly! *thumbs up*

since we didn't get to try other sorbets. we went again today :)))

we only ordered the "fruity sampler" today. so we got all the sorbets that we wanted to try. it is categorised under the house specialty. fruity sampler = hokkaido mango + white peach + melon + apple + citron + muscat wine sorbet! really worth trying! :9

everything went down the hill since the beginning of the year. it's april now and without me realising it i've been having this roller coaster ride for four months. minutes felt like hours and days felt like months. it's amazing how much i'd changed.

i didn't laugh much. and i didn't talk much. it was really obvious that i was not myself for the past few months. some thought i was having relationship problems. that was not exactly true since i've not been attached for ages. some thought i was having problems at work. or having family problems. some just thought i was weird. the truth is i just didn't have the energy to explain myself. and i didn't feel like talking about what happened.

recently things are starting to change for the better. i'm able to concentrate on pressing matters and i'm able to laugh and talk like i used to. didn't expect to have a speedy recovery though. baby steps suit me well now.

wanted a weekend getaway for quite some time already. and my wish was granted last weekend :)

i'm a happier me now. thanks to you :)))

whoever says that happiness and love cannot be bought definitely has not gone shopping before. but of course when it comes to love (and shopping) everyone has a different point of view.

let's see what's on my shopping list this month! (mind you i didn't include any new bags on my current shopping list. because i don't think i'm going to buy any for the time being. but of course this statement is subject to change.)

#1 tiffany twist bow ring

this is currently on the top of my shopping list. saw this the other day and i like it a lot. didn't buy it on the spot because i didn't have the i-love-it-so-much-i-need-to-get-it-so-badly feeling! so i'm still considering whether i should get it :)

and i saw the tiffany twist bow pendant. a bit tempted. but it's too big. maybe i should try it on during my next visit :)

#2 burberry blush (09) lipstick

didn't bother to find the blush (09) lipstick picture. a general one will do. i really like the shade but i went to isetan twice and they didn't bother to refill their stocks. was quite disappointed since i want it quite badly. maybe i should get another shade. maybe.

#3 thomas sabo wedding carriage charmsuper duper love this! definitely going to buy this next :) (although during the previous visits i fell in love with other charms and bought them instead!)

#4 thomas sabo pumps charm really like this diamond charm. i know i have 5 footwear charms already. but this is different. just like how girls always buy similar heels but still insist that they're different! :D

this colour is currently on my die-die-must-paint-this-colour list. it's called "an affair in red square" ♥ super love this metallic red! love staring at them while i'm working. it can be distracting at times. but they cheer me up :)

went to the nail saloon the other day and they couldn't find my "affair". was quite disappointed but i came across this new OPI Burlesque collection. the collection is very fancy. i chose the red one. it's called "ali's big break". it has glitters in it so it shimmers under bright lights.i figured i should take a "break" from the "affair" that i'm so into *wink*

that limited amount of happiness

too much ups and downs for my liking this month. one minute i was on cloud nine. but the next minute someone/something just had to push me down the hill. is it so hard to be happy all the time? i've spent too much time and money shopping. just to cheer myself up. it worked. but only for a day or two. then i needed to shop again. and again and again. happiness is not supposed to cost a cent!

i miss staying up late just to watch the tv with someone who cares. i miss having someone to gossip with. to complain about things which make me sad/angry/frustrated. i miss the times when i can afford to waste the whole weekend on the sofa watching nonsense on the tv. i miss having someone to come home to. these are just simple things which make me happy. which cheer me up. which allow me to sleep soundly at night. but even these have left me.

i really don't mind waking up to "morning sunshine..." every morning. or having someone to chauffeur me around. the truth is i do enjoy being cared for and stuff. but how long will this last? what is its life span? one month two months or maybe if i'm lucky three months? there are too many questions left unanswered. there are too many choices to make. too many hurdles to overcome. more importantly. there are just too many broken pieces to be picked up. i don't remember where did i leave my heart. after a while there are bits and pieces of it everywhere. i don't want another fall because i don't want to walk along another path which might lead to another heartache. i'm terrified because eventually everyone is going to leave :(

kept reminding myself to tidy up my beauty corner but i just didn't have the time and energy to do it. the last time i did something to it was last year. you can imagine how messy the whole place was. the other day i was too bored and emo i got out of my bed (reluctantly) to tidy up the whole place. not the whole room though mind you. there are so much to deal with!

of course i'm not going to show you how untidy the place was. the end result will do :)

i threw away soooooo many empty bottles i couldn't imagine why i didn't do that earlier. probably too reluctant to remove them from their comfy zone :| empty bottles of serum moisturiser toner perfume and tons of others. lipstick blusher eyeshadow mascara which were no longer in use. all of them are on their way to destruction now.

after a while you would've noticed that i'm very predictable when it comes to beauty products. they are mostly from the same brands. i'm loyal that way :)

1. facial product - clinique and kiehl's are the must-haves.
2. perfume - the must-haves (bought for more than 3 times) are ralph. dior addict 2 and dkny delicious.
3. lipstick - cannot live without chanel and anna sui.
4. mascara - most of them are from lancome.
5. foundation - definitely anna sui and bobbi brown only.
6. miscellaneous - mostly from anna sui.

staying at home all the time leads to depression. working non-stop all the time leads to exhaustion. going out with friends all the time makes life worth living for :)))

went to bangsar the other day. ended up having our late lunch at the daily grind.the food was not bad. and i enjoyed their company a lot.

had dinner with kuanting in ss2 last week. can't remember the last time we saw each other. probably over a year ago. we had soooooo much to catch up on. and i had a really good time.

sometimes i wish i had more time meeting all my friends who i've left behind due to my work and (previously) my studies.

it's just so difficult to meet everyone nowadays because you have to work and it is just so convenient for you to leave everyone else aside. taking for granted that they will never leave. although friends come and go. there are those who you really love spending time with. but you just don't put in effort to contact them. because the longer you hesitate. the more you feel awkward to pick up the phone and call them for a random and spontaneous drinking session. and after months or years of not contacting them you start to feel sad not having them around anymore.

from now on. i really should put in more effort. won't want to lose all my good friends due to distance or work or whatever excuses i give to myself :)

back to working life. all of us at VCWL do know how to enjoy life. had our chinese new year lunch in cheras last month. the same restaurant which we had last year.

thomas sabo overdose

last sunday. jerine and i went to the gardens for our daily (yes we shop everyday) shopping trip. since she's very into thomas sabo. she decided to spread the love. in other words. influencing others to spend as much as she does.

we had an important meeting at delicious. where desserts were involved.

and with the most important document at hand - thomas sabo catologue - we started discussing which charm to buy and which not to buy. circling re-circling and striking through whenever necessary. it is indeed a very thorough research :)as i've mentioned in my previous post. i still believe that behind every charm there is a story. when i first looked at the catalogue. i already had a rough idea which charms to buy. because those charms somehow stood out from the rest.
so. i ended up buying only two charms on the first trip to thomas sabo at the gardens. because they had very limited choices and most of the charms that i wanted were sold out. i was a bit disappointed but i managed to get two that i wanted.
i chose the slipper charm because i wear slippers very often. they come next to high heels. and to be honest the double wedding rings charm does not bring any special meaning to be yet (maybe someday it will). it is just too attractive to give up.

the next day. we went to klcc (the best thomas sabo store) to get more charms.
the red lipstick looks exactly like my chanel lipstick. so i need to have it. the girl and boy charm is my favourite because it reminds me of someone :) the red killer heel charm? i think i don't have to elaborate on that. the horseshoe charm is the first charm that i wanted to buy. but after 4 to 5 trips to thomas sabo. i still didn't buy it and i don't know why. i had a horseshoe necklace from tiffany. and it always brings me good luck. i just figured maybe i should get a horseshoe charm to bring more good luck to myself :) but i guess it can wait.
here we are. another batch of charms. initially i wanted to buy the ice-cream charm so badly. but after half an hour in the shop. i realised that it might have brought me some good memories. but it doesn't really matter anymore. so i didn't buy it in the end. the moon and star charm shared the same fate. eiffel tower charm is a must have. i love paris very much and it's just fair to get one right? jerine bought me that :))) oh and i got another black heel. girls just can't get enough of high heels get it?

so. my first collection!

so much for first collection. i went to thomas sabo again yesterday. wanted to get jerine a charm for her birthday. but i ended up buying another one for myself.

since i got the same charm for both of us i can only reveal the content after she has received it.

the other day while we were shopping for charms. i told jason that there's a story behind every charm. he didn't buy it and said that we were finding excuses to shop more. hmph! but it's true. you will only choose charms which are meaningful to you or represent your character or remind you of something/someone. you will not randomly pick a charm which brings no meaning to you. right? i definitely won't pick a lizard charm for myself since there is no connection between us (unless my boyfriend wants me to feed his lizard everyday or something).

after visiting so many different stores. we have come to the conclusion that the thomas sabo in klcc is the best! those of you who follow me on twitter probably knew about the "tah kao" episode at thomas sabo bangsar village. for the full story please click here. jerine is very good at telling stories (especially stories which can ruin one's life forever!). i'll just stick to the 140 characters in twitter :P

so if you're planning to buy more charms for yourself or someone you care about. please visit the thomas sabo in klcc. it has more choices and the promoters are very friendly. thomas sabo in pavilion... i think jerine did mention to me that the promoter was very unfriendly. the one in gardens had very limited stock and choices. but the promoter was quite nice.

i'm back!

my last post was written before christmas. and it's already february now. christmas has passed. new year has passed. even chinese new year has ended. a lot happened since december. some good and some bad. but i guess we're not here to analyse them.

*christmas 2010*

went back to kb for christmas. this was our first christmas tree in our new house :) nothing fancy but it was enough to cheer us up.
*chinese new year 2011*

as usual. chinese new year is all about gambling and drinking and collecting angpau :)this year we've spent an excessive amount of time singing k and drinking. it was definitely better than redbox plus because we had free flow of liquor and we could sing until 4am :))) played mahjong once and that was it. i didn't gamble a lot until i came back to kl. and as usual the number of angpau i collected did not exceed 20.

we wanted to spend more time at the poolside but the weather decided to change our plans. only managed to take 3 pictures by my bb.

wanted to blog earlier but obviously that didn't happen. i'm back once again to keep this blog alive :)

it's the season to be broke! december is my favourite month due to a lot of reasons. it is also the worst month for my bank statements. started spending endlessly since the 1st of december. it's only mid december now but i'm already beyond broke. BUT i'm happy (and insane) because christmas is around the corner :)

celebrated my birthday thrice last week. and received tons of presents too. thank you to all who remembered. you guys are the greatest!

and i got the cutest cakes ever!will update more on my birthday when i have more time.

i know i've promised a post on universal studios singapore. and i did plan to talk about some of the rides and attractions. my experience there and so on. but i don't have the time to do that now.

marina bay sands singapore

it's THE place to go to if you visit singapore :)

since our hotel is right in front of merlion park. we went there twice to take pictures of marina bay sands. went there after universal studios on saturday night and again on sunday morning.

ok it does look awesome and all from afar. but close up it's just another normal building. nothing to shout about. a bit disappointed though.

we didn't have a lot of time to shop. so we just walked around. i did buy a pair of heels. am very happy with my purchase :) there are plenty of shops there. will definitely go again during my next visit.

we went to the skypark too!

really nice view from the observation deck. some of them spotted johor bahru *big grin*

the swimming pool is soooooo cool! but it's open for hotel guests only. too bad. maybe next time i'll stay there and have my chance!

speaking of swimming pool. our hotel's swimming pool is also quite nice. but we didn't really have time to enjoy that. sigh.

took a picture with the singapore flyer :) was drizzling and really really windy. can't see my face in most of the pictures because my hair totally covered it up :(

of course we went to the casino!

but i was not in the mood to gamble so i just watched them play. they had a bit of luck. so most left with some winnings :)

the fullerton hotel singapore

first glance and i fell in love with it instantly. yes it was love at first sight. partly because of the columns *big grin* it made me feel like i was in one of the european countries. and it was good because the minute i arrived in singapore i didn't feel like i was in another country. i felt like i was still in malaysia (of course singapore is cleaner and way better in a lot of aspects) because the weather was the same. buildings looked similar. of course i didn't expect singapore to be too different from malaysia but i just wanted to have a holiday mood.

back to the hotel. it was huge! i took a picture of it from marina bay sands skypark :)

it looks pretty awesome during daytime. but i prefer the night view :)

check out the hotel lobby. nothing fancy but very very spacious! one thing i've learnt after staying in so many hotels is: do not judge a hotel by its lobby. hotel lobby doesn't reflect the service/rooms/comfort/etc. one can have really cool lobby and shitty service. of course one can also have really awesome lobby and awesome service. so it really depends.

time to check out our rooms! jiaee and i shared a room. due to some administrative problems we got a double bed. but it was ok because we woke up on the bed and not on the floor :Pthere was this huge table which was suitable for work (!). but it was only tidy for like 5 minutes. we instantly covered it with our things after exploring the whole room.the pantry was small but it really didn't matter because we didn't have time to enjoy the complimentary tea/coffee. when we entered the room. i felt cheated because the path was so narrow. but little did i know that the path led us to a huge room :) and the door on the right led us to a huge bathroom! (hence the long narrow path)
ok my picture doesn't do the bathroom justice (i should've taken picture of the whole bathroom and not just the bathtub). seriously it was as big as our bedroom! guess you'll have to visit the hotel to check it out :)

the fullerton hotel is near the merlion park. it's also very near to boat quay and clarke quay. so it's really convenient for tourists. especially if you want to take pictures with the merlion. from the merlion park you can also get a perfect view of the marina bay sands hotel and the esplanade :)

singapore is a FINE city

i still can't believe i've only been to singapore twice. the first time was when i was 6. the second time was last weekend. my first trip was a blur (i was only 6) so i didn't really understand what attracted my friends to go there again and again. and some chose to live there permanently. well now i know why. kind of.

i'm really glad i visited singapore again after more than 10 years. at least i got the chance to find out what's so special about the city. apart from the constant fear of being fined (was wearing seat belt and didn't simply cross roads) the whole trip was rather fun. it was dreadful coming back after only 2 nights there. well partly because we stayed in fullerton hotel :) but there was this vibe which made me love the place. ok maybe if i were to work there 24/7 i wouldn't enjoy the place so much but i guess as a tourist it was not bad. plus they have plenty of branded stores which can't be found in malaysia. so shopping is another wonderful excuse to visit singapore :)

i'm in the midst of compiling all the photos taken in singapore. so let's just settle with a few of them first.

clarke quay. the must-visit.

it was so crowded (luckily it was windy otherwise i would have fainted). plenty of bars and clubs there. and the buildings are so colourful! equally pretty during daytime.

next stop. merlion park. which is right behind fullerton hotel.i insisted on going there because. well. i've never been there before until that day. so another tick on my to-do list before i die.

i'm not busy. i'm just lazy.

lazy to blog. lazy to tidy up my room. lazy to eat. lazy to wake up in the morning. just plain lazy. but i've finished quite a lot of novels. so maybe i'm not that lazy after all.

finished reading "ford county" by john grisham last week. it was a page-turner. and i have to admit i've always liked his books. hard to pick my favourites. starting to read "the associate" now. heard it's similar to "the firm". so it must be good too. also finished reading "starting over" by tony parsons. i really like his books. i'm trying to get a copy of "man and boy" - his first book. i've read the sequel - "man and wife" but i think it's ok to read them in the wrong order *tongue sticking out* i've bought most of his books. trying to purchase all of them :) and i really want to get my hands on "mini shopaholic" by sophie kinsella. i know i'm too old for that but it feels wrong to just stop at "shopaholic & baby". i've also finished reading the thick "what she wants" by cathy kelly. and i'm going to purchase her latest book soon. since harry potter 7 is showing next month. i'm thinking of reading the whole harry potter series again. should i?

novels aside. i have plenty of good news *big grin*

took my CLP results early this month :)

started my pupillage straight away :))

got my short call date already. which is next month :)))

last but not least. we're going to universal studio this weekend :))))

the trip is definitely going to cost me a bomb. i'm fully prepared to declare myself bankrupt after the trip. but who knows. maybe there's nothing for me to buy? we'll evaluate the damage when i come back.

you see. life is not perfect. i do have some bad news. BUT i'm working on them and hopefully everything turns out well. i'll give myself a few months to sort things out. i'm not an optimistic person. but sometimes i need to be. don't want to chase away the lucky angels do i?

few weeks ago we had an early celebration in kb.

the traditional way :)

these used to be really cheap while we were still in primary school. but they're quite expensive now. you can hardly get one with less than rm1. screw inflation!

this is one of the modern ones :)

it's always fun to dirty the floor/tiles with colourful candles *big grin*
speaking of that. i think we didn't clear the mess before leaving kb. my parents are so going to kill us!

i remember we used to celebrate mooncake festival in my grandparents' house. along with my cousins. luckily my grandparents' house is quite big. we were like monkeys back then. kids nowadays won't enjoy festivals like we used to. especially those who live on the 29th floor of their condos. it's quite impossible to celebrate without a proper 'playground' like we used to have back in the days.

how i wish we could celebrate this day like we used to 15 years ago. in my grandparents' house. sing along to all the children's songs and nursery rhymes we loved. eat junk food as much as we want. play with fireworks and all the childish stuff.

there was a particular rhyme we liked. it's in hubei (湖北). i can't show you guys because i have no idea how to write certain words. i've tried to google it but i couldn't find the version that i want. too bad.

so. happy mooncake festival everyone :D

好久没有写中文了. 也好久没有读中文了.
渐渐觉得自己的中文越来越退步.
以前会阅读妈妈的中文小说与杂志. 偶尔还会看下报纸.
现在呢? 会说中文已经很不错了.
以前妈妈还会时常问我. 你的中文那么烂是怎么考A的? 我也不懂.
最近开始阅读中文杂志. 再从散文开始.
毕竟不能够一开始就看中文小说吧!
一步一步来.
回想起中学时期的我还会读中文小说. 现在真是惭愧.
但现在从散文开始应该也不迟 :)
已经读完刘墉的"冷眼看人生"和"我不是教你诈2"
找不到"我不是教你诈1". 也就只好读第二本.
现在正阅读亦舒的"先吃甜品".
短短的散文比较合我口味. 还同妈妈借了好多本散文.
有刘墉和刘轩的. 亦舒的. 也有张曼娟的.
还有好多不知作者是谁.
希望在下一趟回去之前可以把它们读完. 然后再借多几本 :)

so on that frustrating night. i found a lot of things in my boxes. things which are no longer useful but i just can't throw them away. things which are still very useful but i don't like them anymore. things which contain memories and can't be thrown. actually i've found them when i was moving but i didn't get to stop and ponder on them. i was busy preparing for my exam and busy moving. i didn't want to waste too much time daydreaming. but i have all the time in the world now. i can think about anything and everything i want. memories which i love so much i don't want them to be forgotten. and memories i wish i didn't create.

i found a broken crystal which was too dear to me i still can't bear to have it thrown away. i found some souvenirs which i know have no meaning in my life anymore but they are too cute to be abandoned. i also found a lot of pictures which i will never show anyone. obviously i'm not proud to exhibit pictures showing a teenager with spots on her face and the ugliest hair style ever. right? ok no big deal everyone has gone through that phase. i also found some tickets/brochures/receipts/access cards etc which i've kept after each vacation. i know i should throw them away. but they bring happy memories :)

then i thought about how i'm going to deal with all these useless stuff. surely i don't want to give them away. but i also know that after a few more years i will collect more and more unnecessary stuff. am i supposed to rent a warehouse or something to store them? and i thought maybe i should just throw them away. because when i'm dead. nobody will keep them because those things bring no meaning to anyone else.

there are several journals too. i used to keep journals. i can't remember the last time i wrote. and i can't remember why i stopped. i used to write when i was angry or sad about something or someone. then i stopped. i can't remember exactly when i didn't feel the urge to write anymore. i think i stopped when i realised that i couldn't express my thoughts in writing. when i failed to understand what i was thinking and feeling. i stopped. my friends used to say i'm good at expressing myself. but i don't feel the same anymore. i have to admit that i'm not a good writer. i'm very bad at elaborating or explaining things to others. and i know that most of the time people just don't understand what i'm talking about.

i'm talkative. and i know nothing makes sense.

was running through all the boxes in my room (most things are hidden in different boxes to save the already small space in my room) looking for some important contacts. but i found none. i really really thought i've jotted down the contacts in one of my schedule books. i have a new one every year. and i still keep all of them for emergencies like this. BUT i found nothing. i hate this kind of feeling. hate it hate it hate it!

and then i found out that the picture which i was supposed to forward to someone important was blur! and i've failed to take more. stupid!

but i did find some treasures. which cheered me up for two seconds only O.O
